Teacher Response to Janyaa’s Training and Programs:

Janyaa has received positive feedback and productive suggestions from teachers who have participated in our orientation programs. We believe that by soliciting feedback from the teachers who help implement our programs, we can better tailor the programs to work well in classrooms with already existing curricula. The following reactions are indicative of the encouraging response we’ve had to our programs in their first year:

From October 7, 2009 Teacher Orientation:

--“Low cost classroom activities are very innovative”.

--“Learning by doing is concrete.  [This] may lead us to create good teaching in our classroom”.

--“Training program was very nice.  It gave a new dimension to my thinking by giving me new ideas for everything I do… Your new ideas, concepts and easy examples are very attractive and are a nice change from the usual classroom routine.  The activities have inspired me and will be more inspiring for the children.  Seems like these will improve thinking ability and problem solving in daily life”.

--“Main concept of Butterfly Fields is excellent”.

--“Explanation of low cost and no cost materials are useful”.

--We can decrease drop-out rates if we implement this program in schools.  It will facilitate increase of students’ knowledge.  It will help teachers in preparing teaching materials for various actibities.  So it’s useful for both teachers and students alike.  To make this a success, schools need science equipment and audio/visual equipment and we can take this program further.

From November 2, 2009 CLIP Teacher Orientation:

--“We are much grateful because of your research, improvement and innovative techniques in teaching science and math”. 

--“This is my dream.  I am happy my dream is being realized with this project.  I attended numerous orientation programs in my years of service, but never had anyone work with us till the end.  We are pleased to see you help us.  We will cooperate 100% with you”.

--“Activities learnt with CLIP-Janyaa program are very useful.  If we lay the foundation with these concepts at the basic level, the interest in children will increase by the time they reach higher classes…Even if we cannot see the result immediately, we are sure we will succeed by continuing the program.”

--We are excited to teach the kids in a way that will increase their interest in the subject.  Not only that, through this program, my enthusiasm to learn extracurricular activities related to the subjects I teach has been initiated.
